Who provides Setronome

Setronome is made and operated by Sugar Land Collective LLC, a Texas limited liability company, trading as SL Collective.

Contact: support@setronome.io. Mail sent there is read by a person. There is no support form and no ticket number.

What the purchase is

Setronome costs $4.99 once, for one person. It does not renew and it is never billed again.

One purchase, every platform. The same unlock covers the iPhone app, the Apple Watch app and the web app. Signing in on another device carries it there; you never pay twice for the same product. The watch follows whatever the phone it is paired with is entitled to.

On Android, and on any Chromebook or laptop, the web app installs to the home screen or the dock straight from the browser. It is not quite the same software, and it matters which parts differ. The click, the shows, the rehearsal techniques, the tuner, the score import and the click-track export are all there. What is not, because a browser cannot do it: the listener, which is the part that measures how far ahead or behind the playing was and is the reason this app exists; Group Click across several devices; the Apple Watch app; the camera light on the beat; the counting voices; and calling out the sets by name. Settings inside the app lists all of them, with the reason for each. If the listener is what you are buying Setronome for, buy it here and sign in on the phone: the same purchase covers both, and signing in carries it over.

What an account is, and how little it holds

An account carries one fact: that you paid. That is its entire job.

Your shows, tempo maps, sets, rehearsal plans, practice history and settings never touch our servers. They are files on your device. When you share a show it travels as a file you hand to somebody, and it goes only where you send it. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Who may use it

• If you are 13 or older, you may create an account yourself.
• If you are under 13, an account should be created for you by a parent or guardian, or by a school acting under its own parental-consent process. An account requires an email address, which is the only reason this line exists.

What you agree to do, and not do

• Do not share one account between several people, and do not resell accounts.
• Do not try to unlock the app without paying for it, or to reach an account that is not yours. Attempting either is a reason to close an account.
• Recordings you attach to a show are yours to make and yours to share. If a recording has other people playing on it, have the standing to share it before you do.

The microphone

The tuner and the opt-in measurement feature analyze audio live, in memory, on your device. No audio is written to disk by them and none is ever uploaded. What is kept, on the device only, is a few numbers per rehearsal run. The camera is never opened; the beat flash uses the torch alone.

Group Click sends the beat between your own devices over your local network. Nothing leaves them.

What we promise, and what we do not

We will run Setronome with care, keep the web app available, and answer support mail with a person.

We do not promise that it will never be unavailable. The web app runs on infrastructure we do not own, and it is made by a small company rather than being an obligation of anybody’s school.

What you made stays yours and stays reachable. Because your work is a file on your device rather than a row in our database, nothing we do to billing, to an account, or to this service can take it from you. That is a design decision written into the software itself, not only a promise here.

To the extent the law allows, Setronome is provided as it is, and our liability for anything arising out of using it is limited to what you paid for it. That is $4.99.

Refunds

Ask, and you get your money back, with one wrinkle worth knowing: a purchase made inside the iPhone app is refunded by Apple rather than by us. The whole policy is in Refunds.

Ending an account

You can delete your account from inside the app. Deleting it removes the record that you paid, which means the unlock goes with it and is not recoverable without buying again. Your shows and your history are not touched, because they were never ours to delete.

We may close an account that is being used to attack the service. We will say why.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the new version is published here before it takes effect. Small corrections happen without ceremony.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
