Effective 20 August 2026 · back to Setronome

Setronome collects nothing.

Everything you make stays on your device. Shows, tempo maps, sets, rehearsal plans, practice history and settings are files on your phone or data in your browser. There is no account behind them, no cloud copy, and no way for us to see them. When you share a show, it travels as a file you hand to someone through AirDrop, Files, mail, or a download, and it goes only where you send it.

The microphone is used, not kept. The tuner, push-to-talk, and the opt-in “measure the band” reading analyze audio live, in memory, on your device. No audio is written to disk and none ever leaves the device. What is kept, on the device only, is the result: a few numbers per rehearsal run, so the app can tell you whether a passage improved.

The camera is never opened. The beat flash uses the torch only. Nothing is recorded.

Group Click uses your local network only. The phone at the speaker sends the click to the phones that follow it, directly, the way AirDrop works. Nothing leaves your devices.

The web app works the same way. Shows live in your browser’s own storage. There are no analytics, no tracking, no cookies, and the page makes no requests to anyone but the server it loaded from.

No ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no data sale. On any platform, ever.

The one exception, and it is opt-in: carrying a purchase

If you buy the one-time unlock and choose to use it on the web too, you can sign in with Apple. When you do, we store exactly two things: your account identifier and the purchase’s transaction identifier, so the things you paid for once work everywhere. That is the entire record. It contains no name and, if you use Apple’s “Hide My Email,” no address we can read. We use it for nothing else. To delete it, email us from the address below and it is gone; the app on your phone keeps working, because the phone verifies purchases with Apple directly.

Students never need an account. Opening a show someone sent you, practicing it, and using the metronome are free and require no sign-in on any platform.

Children

Setronome is used by school ensembles. It has no accounts for free use, no social features, no messaging, no ads, and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

If this policy ever changes, the change will be visible here before it takes effect, and the app will never begin collecting something new without asking first.
